RN danced the role of Mercutio in Romeo & Juliet. 1991 - France - Received title of Commandeur de Lordes des Arts et des Lettres. Made debut as orchestral conductor, with performances in Vienna, Budapest and Athens. 1/18, 19, 20/1991 - Toronto - "The King & I". - 1/23/91 - East Lansing, Jan. 25th & 26th, 1991 - Boston - two performances. 1/28/91 - Rockford, Illinois - Nureyev & Friends, RN conducted short segments of Tchaikovsky's music from Sleeping Beauty. 1/31/91 - Muncie.

Syracuse, Buffalo. 2/12/91 - Clearwater 2/14/91 - Nashville, Tennessee - Nureyev & Friends, RN conducted. 2/15/91 - Chattanoogo - 2/16/91- Sarasota, 2/20/91. 2/20/91 - Salt Lake City, Utah - Nureyev & Friends, RN conducted. 2/22/91 - Joliet - 2/23/91- Kalamazoo. 2/21/91 - Panama City - Margo Fonteyn died. 3/2 - 26/91 - Nureyev & Friends Tour US - Austin, Forth Worth, Lubbock, Galveston, Trenton, Orlando, Little Rock, Greenvale, Schenectady, Amarillo. 6/25/91 - Vienna - RN conducted Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Hayden with a chamber orchestra. 2/28/92 - Budapest - Hungarian State Opera, RN danced the role of an Angel "Cristoforo", première at Opera House. 2/28/92 - Berlin - Première of RN's production of Sleeping Beauty as the character Carabosse. 3/1/92 - Budapest - Christoforo, RN's last dance performance. 10/8/1992 - Paris - Paris Opera: Staged final production (with Kourgapkina), full-length "La Bayadere". RN appeared for curtain call standing between Isabel Guérin and Laurent Hilaire. 1/6/93 - Paris - RN died. 1/12/93 - Paris - A ceremony in RN's honor held at the Paris Opera House followed by funeral in Ste. Geneviève-des-Bois where RN was buried in a Russian Orthodox Cemetery. May 6, 1996, a monument created by Ezio Frigerio in the form of a trunk with an oriental carpet thrown over it in red, blue, and gold mosaics was install at the grave site.
