In Rome (2/6, 2/8, 2/9) for first time in 14 years, SRO for Giselle with Fracci. 3/2/80 - West Berlin - Berlin Opera Ballet: Panov's "The Idiot" 3/12 - 27/80 - Vienna - Vienna State Opera: Swan Lake with Gregory; Pierrot, Wayfarer 4/80 - Paris/New York - Met cancels Paris Opera Ballet visit to New York and Washington because of dancers' threat to strike. 4/80 - London - Festival Ballet: Sleeping Beauty 4/80 - Paris - Paris Opera Ballet: RN dances in Bourmeister production of Swan Lake. 4/80 - Italy - Rome Opera Ballet: Swan Lake - Soviet Embassy's protest forced cancellation of RN's performances in Yuri Grigorovich's production. Rome Opera replaced some Swans with Giselle for RN and Fracci - some dancers struck, but performance continued. 4/80 - San Remo - Wayfarer, Pierrot, Aureole, Corsaire (Radius) 4/80 - New York - In Ballet News, Clive Barnes expresses hope that RN will become director of the Metropolitan Opera Ballet Company. 4/13/80 - New York - RN to choreograph and dance in "Parade" at Met.
