10/17 to 11/9/69 - Paris - Paris Opera, Palais des Sports: Swan Lake (Motte) Giselle Act II, Rite of Spring; John Taras, artistic director.

11/69 - Trieste - In Giselle, Giovanna Mariani stepped on RN's foot.  He slapped her.  She ran off crying, came back after five minutes to finish performance, and filed suit the next day.

3/2/70 - London - Royal: premiere of Ropes of Time (van Dantzig)

3/70 - Adelaide - Australian Ballet: staged and danced Don Quixote (Lucette Aldous and Robert Helpmann)

3/25/70 - Leningrad - Alexander Pushkin dies.

4/70 to 3/71 - London - RN repertoire at Covent Garden: Giselle, R & J, Swan Lake, Bayadere, Dances at a Gathering, M & A, Ropes of Time

4/21/70-5/31/70 - New York - Royal tour: R & J, Beauty, Nutcracker, Ropes of Time, Giselle, Swan Lake, Bayadere, Raymonda

5/17/70 - New York - RN walked off stage during Act II of Nutcracker, but returned for finish.  Note: This was reported in The Australian Women's Weekly - December 23, 1970.
